Conquering the Fear of Flying: Finding Your Wings

The fear of flying, while common, can isolate us from experiences and people we love. This fear often stems not just from the act of flying but from a feeling of not being in control. Addressing these fears can start with education—learning how planes work and the safety measures in place can provide reassurance. Psychological strategies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), can help reframe negative thoughts associated with flying. Relaxation techniques, practiced both on and off the plane, can also soothe the physical symptoms of anxiety, making the skies a friendlier place for nervous flyers.

HEY, I’M Darryl

.I want to start by saying I’ve been where you might be right now. Stress and anxiety during exams once controlled my life. In high school, my grades swung wildly—from perfect scores to nearly failing—because of the pressure I was under. At one point, I almost flunked out at 15. My first year of university wasn’t much better. Stress, anxiety and unresolved childhood traumas dragged down my performance, forcing me to retake several courses.
